"DS Mark ‘Heck’ Heckenburg is used to bloodbaths. But nothing can prepare him for this.
Heck’s most dangerous case to date is open again. Two years ago, countless victims were found dead - massacred at the hands of Britain’s most terrifying gang.
When brutal murders start happening across the country, it’s clear the gang is at work again. Their victims are killed in cold blood, in broad daylight, and by any means necessary. And Heck knows it won’t be long before they come for him.
Brace yourself as you turn the pages of a living nightmare. Welcome to The Killing Club."
Once again this book is not for the faint hearted. It is gruesome, slightly disturbing and very tense. The series follows DS Heckenburg who always seems to get himself into trouble. He likes to ignore orders and go off on his own to try and catch the bad guys.
The gang from the first book who call themselves the Nice Guys are back with a grudge in this book and once again Heck tries to take them on. If you have read the first book you will know how bad ass and utterly terrifying the Nice Guys are. They can literally get away with murder and are definitely not nice. This book is jam packed with action from the very first chapter. I did find that I lost track of who was who at some points because there were so many names floating around but I worked it out. The end of the hunt is pretty dramatic with a huge battle and bullets flying. We get to see more of the Gemma/Heck relationship chemistry and see more friendships and enemies emerge.
I would definitely recommend this author if you love curling up with a good crime thriller and I'm looking forward to the next book.
Have you read any of the series?
Who is your favourite crime thriller author?
