Last week I attended my first ever Lush event and I enjoyed every second of it. I don't think I have ever been to an event that smelled that damn good. Not many places smell as good as a Lush store.
I wandered around the store with fellow bloggers Holly and Lottie whilst our guides Amber & Ellie showed us all the Halloween/Christmas products. They also explained the new concept of naked packaging which has been introduced this year. In an effort to cut down on plastic waste you can now purchase naked versions of most of the products. Shower gel, lip scrubs, body conditioner (which I will definitively be picking up soon as it feels amazing on the skin). We were also shown around the amazing spa and oh my god it is incredible. It's so peaceful and relaxing as well as being fully accessible. I feel like I need to book a treatment asap.
I thoroughly enjoyed the event and obviously treated myself to some products so thought I'd show you what I got. First things first they generously gave us 3 full size products wrapped in adorable knot wraps as our goodie bags.
As I mentioned, the goodie bags were all wrapped up in knot wraps. I chose this gorgeous neon trees one. They are so cute. Lush is trying to cut down on packaging waste so you can buy knot wraps to wrap up gifts and cut down the need to throw away wrapping paper. Plus they look amazing and can be reused.
Naked Snow Fairy Shower Gel*
I'm not really fan of snow fairy. It's just too sweet for me and I swear it gives me a sugar headache just by sniffing it. However, my brother loves it. I actually bought him one of these before discovering that I had one in my goodie bag so now he can have one at mine and his. I was a bit wary of the naked shower gel concept as we all know how gross soaps can get but they apparently dry nicely and are self sealing so they can be shared. They lather up just like liquid shower gel and feel soo good on your skin. I had the Bubbly one demonstrated on my arm and they honestly feel so nice.
Thundersnow Bath Bomb *
We had a demonstration of this and oh my god it smells so good and looks beautiful. It's the perfect blend of mint and chocolate. I'll probably be gifting this to my mum though as I struggle with baths. I'm a tad jealous that I wont be the one soaking in the super pretty water.
Twilight Sparkle Jar*
I had never smelled anything from the twilight range before but it's safe to say I am fully obsessed now. The naked sparkle jars are part of the new naked revolution. "Massage this dreamily scented cocoa butter bar over warm skin for heavenly hydration. Press something pointy into the dimples and shake out the glimmering powder to help you get sleepy." I had this demonstrated on me and it left my arm so soft and sparkly. I also smelled incredible. I will definitely be using this for some added moisture before bed and hopefully it will help with my poor attempts at sleeping.
Now onto the things I purchased myself.
Bewitched Bubble Bar
As I mentioned I struggle with baths. I can't get in and out on my own and if I have them too hot I end up with a racing heart and a banging headache. I also don't actually own a bath. That being said in the cold months my joints are desperate for a nice warm soak. I also stay in a lot of travelodges and my parents also have a bath. As soon as I got a whiff of this bubble bar I knew I needed to have it ready for the day that I treat myself to a bath. It's the perfect blend of sweet and woody plus it turns the water black like my soul. I'm so excited to use it.
FOMO Jelly Face Mask
I love a good face mask. I mean who doesn't. I've heard so many good things about the jelly masks and I knew I had to pick one up at the event. The lovely Amber gave me a quick skin care consultation and talked me through all the products that would suit my dry, red, blemish prone skin. I have a list of things I'm going back for but I picked up the FOMO mask. The calamine powder calms and soothes while rose absolute balances to give clear skin. Neroli oil also evens skin tone. Plus it's fun to play with and feels so cooling on the face.
Twilight Body Spray
I've heard so many people say this is amazing for sleep. My body hates sleep so I'll give most things a try. Lavender normally gives me a massive headache but I seem to be okay with products from Lush. A harmonious blend of lavender and tonka instils a sense of calm, while beguiling and sultry ylang ylang adds enticing, floral undertones. I was a bit nervous trying this for the first time but it honestly smells so relaxing and the lavender isn't too overpowering. I love the undertones of this scent. I spray it in my room before going to bed and it really does help me relax and makes my room smell incredible.
Naked Sugar Plum Fairy Lip Scrub
I love lip scrubs. I wear so many matte lipsticks that my lips are always a tad dry. I'm nearly out of my trusty bubblegum scrub so I thought I'd try one of the new naked ones. I was expecting these to be less gritty than the other ones because it's in a balm but I was so wrong. These are so moisturising but also gritty enough to get rid of any dead skin. It feels so good, leaves my lips feeling amazing and tastes delicious.
Black Rose Lip Tint
This limited edition lip tint is black in the bullet but once applied it turns your perfect shade of magenta/pink. On me it goes a beautiful berry shade. It's also pretty moisturising thanks to jojoba and kalahari melon oils.
Thanks again to Lush Spa Cardiff for having me. I was a tad (a lot) anxious about going to an event on my own but I was made to feel so welcome and everyone was so lovely. I had an amazing night and now have a shopping list as long as my arm.
What are your must have Lush products?
