Plus Size & Health

28 April 2015

I wasn't sure whether to write this post but with all the talk of body shape and size I keep seeing the same thing written over and over again.

"It doesn't matter what size you are as long as you're healthy"
Basically you can be whatever size you want as long as you're healthy. This needs to stop

There are so many ways fat people can be classed as unhealthy which has nothing to do with their weight. Some people are fat because they are ill. There are also many ways they can be unhealthy because of their weight. Does that mean that they deserve to feel too embarrassed to leave the house? Should they have to wear sacks? Should they be shamed? They are still human beings and they still have feelings. I don't give a shit why they are ill or what size they are. Fat people still deserve to be treated with respect and they still deserve to feel fabulous and rock whatever clothes they damn well please.

We Are The They

Now I am a plus size girl who just so happens to have a genetic chronic illness. Don't even bother telling me that I'm ill because I'm fat. I've had enough of that from Drs. Being thin is never going to stop my joints dislocating on a daily basis and will not make my body work any better. My brother is average size and his condition is worse than mine so there goes your argument.

No I am not entirely happy with my body and I would love to lose weight. Yes I am trying but struggling to exercise and having a stomach which is temperamental with certain foods makes it harder.

But in the mean time I deserve to feel confident with my body and wear whatever the hell I want. Even more I deserve to go out in my wheelchair and not be judged that the only reason Im in it is because I'm fat which has happened.

I deserve to not be classed as a "bad" fat person because I am not healthy.

So can we please stop with the as long as their healthy thing and just go with everyone deserves to feel fabulous. I know a lot of you don't mean it to come across this way but it does kinda hurt reading it.

Also people that are saying plus size models and bloggers are glorifying obesity and normalising it. People are fat. There has always been fat people and there always will be. I'm not saying that it is the best thing to be and obviously it has consequences but for those of us that are fat having these gorgeous women who look amazing and rock their bodies with confidence makes me hate my body a little less every day. Plus I grew up only seeing skinny women in magazines and it didnt make me skinny did it?

Shout out to all my chronically ill fabulous plus size babes

L'oreal Volume Million Lashes So Couture So Black Mascara

27 April 2015

I got this mascara ages ago (Christmas ages ago) and I've been meaning to write a post on it for a while. I'm terrible for buying new mascara, trying it once and finding it doesn't measure up to my favourite Maybelline one and then never using it again. I have 3 Rimmel, a GOSH one and something else sitting on the side that I kinda wanna sell but effort.

So now that my fave two have officially run out I'm trying not to buy any more because I have so many mascaras to use instead and I need to save pennies. It's hard though. I still regularly try and scrape the inside of the tube of my beloved which havent quite made it to the bin yet (Empties post anyone). I'll probably give in soon but for now I'll persevere.

So I got the L'oreal Volume Million Lashes So Couture So Black Mascara (what a mouthful) for Christmas. My dad was very proud of himself for picking this, a red lipstick and a gorgeous eyeshadow palette. At £10.99 its only a few quid more than my usual and the packaging is pretty snazzy,

L'oreal Volume Million Lashes So Couture So Black Mascara

Now as some of you may know I have a fear of the rubber brushes after I nearly took my eye out with one particularly vicious one (ahem twice). They just look so intimidating but I gave it a go and oh my I'm glad I did. I struggle to find the perfect volumising mascara as that is what I look for in life (Dont ask for much) but this gives pretty good volume. I also agree with the no clumping claim and it does leave the lashes less crispy than other mascaras I've tried. It made my lashes look pretty dam good and it doesn't flake off which is always a win as my eyeballs are a magnet for mascara flakes.

It's still hasn't beaten my favourite Maybelline (High standards) but it will do as a replacement and won't make my eyelashes sad and will keep my bank balance happy for a bit.

L'oreal Volume Million Lashes So Couture So Black Mascara
Please ignore my eyebrows. I was too lazy to pluck or do anything with them when I took these photos.

What is your favourite mascara?

Books// Hidden by Casey Hill

26 April 2015

Another book by Casey Hill. I'm really enjoying this series and you can see my review on the first two (Taboo & Torn) in the series here.

"A Fallen Angel. A Devil on the Loose. When a young girl is discovered dead on an isolated Irish country road, it seems at first glance to be a simple hit and run. Then the cops see the tattoo on her back - a pair of beautifully wrought angel wings that lend the victim a sense of ethereal innocence.

Forensic investigator Reilly Steel is soon on the scene and her highly tuned sixth sense tells her there is more to this case than a straightforward murder. But with almost zero evidence and no way to trace the girl's origin, Reilly and the police are at a loss.

Then the angel tattoo is traced to other children - both dead and alive - who are similarly marked, and Reilly starts to suspect they have all been abducted by the same person.

But why? And will Reilly get to the bottom of the mystery and uncover what links these children together before tragedy strikes again?"

I definitely preferred the first two books compared to this one. I think its because this one isn't as action filled. Don't get me wrong I still enjoyed it and seeing the relationship between the main characters grow and change.

The murder part of the story was not as intense as the previous books and it involved an old case and mysterious wing tattoos. There is also old Irish folklore mixed in to add to the mystery. The fabulous profiler is back and he is just as sassy as before and still clashes with Chris. There is also a hostage negotiator who I really like but also clashes with some characters. Gotta love a bit of tension.

There's quite a sad ending to the story and I'm not really sure how I feel about it. I mean there's two sides to every story and all that. But I did enjoy it and following the process of the investigation and fitting the puzzle pieces together was as exciting as the other books.

The last chapter was pretty dramatic but apparently (I haven't read it yet) the next book doesn't carry on where this one finishes which is a bit disappointing because I really want to know what happens. Buuut obviously I'm still going to buy the next book so I'll let you know how it is.

Have you read any Casey Hill Books?

Horse Riding on Dartmoor

24 April 2015

Some of you may know that I used to own horses. I had a Welsh Mountain Pony who was the biggest bitch ever but she was my bitch and she taught me so much. I also had an ex racehorse who was everything I didn't want but was somehow perfect. He was my baby. I was so devastated when I had to sell him due to health and I miss him everyday. Horse riding is the one thing I miss the most and I hated my body for having to give it up (it was partly because I needed to concentrate on my GCSEs and A levels too but thats not the point).

When we were in Devon my mum said that I could go riding on Dartmoor for a treat. I was so excited. Like kid high on sugar going to a toy shop excited.

I got to ride the gentle giant Sherman who was a bit of a scaredy cat (the big ones always are) but was so lovely. I mean look how cute he is. I did get covered in white hair though. Black was probably not the best clothing choice.

I opted for the 2hr ride because I didn't think my butt would be able to cope with 3hrs after not riding for so long. My body did strop quite a bit but oh my god it was so worth it. The views across Dartmoor were stunning and we got to see places I would never have seen. I even got to have a canter and man have I missed that. The wind in my hair as we charge across the land. I mean I couldn't sit down without pain in my butt for about 2 days who knew my butt was so bony. Also couldn't close my legs without my muscles protesting (insert dirty joke here).

Everyone at Babeny Stables were so lovely and the guy leading our group was super friendly and told us loads of facts about Dartmoor and the ponies. Everyone in the group was included and all the horses were amazingly well behaved but still had their own personalities.

If you're ever on Dartmoor and want to go riding make sure you check these out. Definitely recommend and they cater for all levels of experience and help you with everything.

Lifestyle// The Highwayman's Haunt

22 April 2015

When we were in Devon we decided to go out for a meal on Easter Sunday and this super cute 13th Century Country Inn (The Highwayman's Haunt) was right next to where we were staying so we couldn't not go. I mean look how cute it is.

The Highwaymans haunt

The Highwaymans haunt

There were so many delicious sounding meals to choose from but I decided to go for the roast beef. You can't beat a good roast. It was delicious. There was plenty of everything including gravy (I always have to ask for more gravy I like my food to be swimming) and the beef was gorgeous.

The Highwaymans haunt sunday dinner

Pudding was also another tough choice but I'm a sucker for a good cheesecake and this one was a home made white chocolate cheesecake with strawberries and cream ice cream. Oh my god it was heaven in my mouth. I'm drooling just writing this. The texture was gorgeous and you could taste the white chocolate which blended perfectly with the cream cheese and the ice cream was just magical. Plus it just looks so pretty.

The Highwaymans haunt cheesecake

The staff were so friendly and the atmosphere was really nice. There are comfy sofas and chairs in front of an open fire and they also have a really pretty garden filled with flowers to enjoy a cold drink on a warm day. If you're ever near Chudleigh I would highly recommend going.

Film// Cinderella

21 April 2015

This was supposed to be posted on Sunday but I got too excited about the zoo and forgot to schedule it to you can have an extra one this week.

As mentioned in my Cinderella themed nails post I went to the cinema to see Cinderella last week and oh my god that dress. I need it. The blue, the sparkles, the twirl.

Lily James was such a good choice for Cinderella and her mum was an amazing match. I loved Cate Blanchette as Lady Tremaine her, and her dresses were fabulous plus she was pretty terrifying and rocked a red lip. The ugly sisters were excellent and not over the top and oh my god Helena Boneham Carter made a fantabulous Fairy Godmother. She suited the roll so well.

I really enjoyed this film and it was nice to see the classic Cinderella story played out so well. I would say that small Children may get a bit bored but it's great for adults that grew up with these films and still love Disney. It follows the same storyline as the classic and there are some potential tear jerkers. I would say it would have been epic if they had put in the bibbidi bobbidi boo song though. That was my favourite as a kid. I still prefer the recent Maleficent film though.

What did you think of it?

Have courage and be kind

#LipGlam

20 April 2015

If you follow me on twitter you have probably seen me raving about this lip balm. I got it in the March YouBeauty Box and I am so pleased I chose it. I have been having serious issues with dry lips recently that have got so bad that I have had to avoid using my precious matte lipsticks because they look gross *Cries*

But then this magic in a tube came to the rescue. It seriously cleared them up in 24hours. How is that even possible? Sorcery is the only answer.

So this magical item is a multi-purpose moisturiser which absorbs 300% of its weight in water giving long lasting moisturising results. It is non greasy so it ensures a natural look with a super soft feel and is safe to use for multiple applications such as
  •          Daily lip balm
  •           Cuticle ointment
  •           Split end smoother
  •           Lipstick and mascara primer
  •           Eyebrow balm
  •           Dry skin relief on elbows, knees, knuckles and in the nasal passage
  •           Soothes chafing and rashes

It is also
  •           Proven to reduce skin roughness by 40% in just one hour
  •           Hypoallergenic
  •           Immediate protection of skins natural barrier
  •           100% fragrance and colour free
  •           Medical grade ultra pure Lanolin (skin matching oils) hydrates from beneath the skins surface.

So far I have used it to sort out the mess that was my lips and also weirdly on my nose. Since having it pierced I keep getting dry skin around the stud so I dabbed a bit of this on and ta-da it’s sorted for the first time since I had it done in September. I have also used it as a lip primer for MAC All Fired Up as I find it really drying and it clings in all the wrong places but with this underneath it went on super smooth and stayed put without any dry patches and I looked fabulous all day.

I also love the packaging. The gold lip makes it look high-end and the tube makes application easy. I’m really not a fan of tins of lip balm because I just end up with it under my nails.

So if you struggle with really dry lips then I highly recommend this lip balm. It has become a staple in my make up bag and I never want to lose it.

What is your go to lip balm?

Cinderella Inspired Nails

17 April 2015

I saw Cinderella on Wednesday and I needed to paint my nails that day. I was going to go for my usual dark - grey, burgundy or black when I saw the Barry M Blueberry and Glitterati V.I.P Sitting next to each other and noticed they were perfect Cinderella colours. Had to be done really. Its the rules.

I am so impressed with the formula of the Glitterati nail paint. Glitter nail polish normally takes ages to dry and smudges but this applied nicely and dried well, Fingers crossed it comes off better than other glitter too. I am also a huge fan of the Barry M Gelly Hi-shines and aim to own all of them one day. This is such a gorgeous colour for spring and has pulled me away from the darker colours. I've now had it on for 2 days and no chips at all and I am really hard on my nails. If you're looking to change up your nail colours check out Barry M. Such a bargain.

First Ever Outfit Post

15 April 2015

I've wanted to do some outfit posts for a while but am seriously lacking in the confidence department. I'm not 100% happy with my body. I am fat and I am learning to love myself. The other issue is, I don't actually wear real clothes that often. Nope I am not a nudist I just live in pyjamas and leggings and any other comfy item of clothing I can find because I spend a lot of time at home and in bed.

That being said we went out for a meal Easter Sunday (post to come) and I wore real people clothes and my brother took a picture of me on Dartmoor which I kinda liked so I thought I'd dip my toe into outfit posts and maybe do some more (with more than one picture next time).

So if we ignore my weird smile and slightly uncomfortable looking pose I quite like this picture.

Kimono - Primark
Vest top - New Look
Skirt - H&M
Tights - Matalan
Hi-tops - Matalan
Necklace - Charmed Ivy
Sunglasses - River Island
Hoop Earrings - Claires

When I started the outing I was wearing my wedge spiked ankle boots from New look but my ankles and standing on gravel in heels was not going to end well so I swapped to my trusty high-tops that I have lived in ever since I bought them. Seriously they are the only shoes I wear these days. They have a slight heel in them so I look taller (when I actually stand up) and weirdly they support my feet better plus they have sparkles on the toes. H&M bodycon skirts are a bargain at £4 and I have a whole rainbow of colours but this one is my favourite (shh don't tell the others) and they last surprisingly well . I can see me wearing this Kimono a lot this summer as it's such a gorgeous colour and light enough that my crappy body wont over heat.

So do you think I should do more outfit posts?

You Beauty Discovery Box April 2015

14 April 2015

I got home from Devon to quite a few packages which was pretty exciting and made my brother hate me for a bit as none of the post he was expecting including his driving licence had arrived. Amongst these was the April You Beauty Discovery Box.

You beauty discovery box april 2015

I struggled what to pick this month as a lot of it was skincare and I've only just started getting my skin under control so didn't want to mess it up by trying something new but here's what I picked

you beauty box april 2015

Konjac Sponge - Made from 100% pure and natural fibre it is supposed to bring back the natural glow and softness of the skin with daily usage. It says its great for deep cleanses, exfoliating and hydrating and moisturising the skin. I haven't tried it yet but it sounds great and I will get back to you with hopefully a disney princess natural glow

Scentered Sleep Well Therapy Balm - As soon as I saw this I knew it would be one of my choices. I sleep really badly and thought this would be good to try. Its supposed to clear the head and quieten the mind helping you to relax and prepare for a good nights sleep. There was a sweet dreams bath oil as well but I can't bath that often so thought the balm was great for travelling. Fingers crossed it helps

you beauty box april 2015

Each box also comes with

Linwoods Milled Organic Flaxseed cocoa & Berries - Im excited to add this to smoothies, yoghurt, cereal or in muffins as suggested. It's a good source of iron, zinc, fibre and antioxidants so helps with me trying to eat better

Yours Truly Organics Fix Me! Repairing Serum - Smooths, repairs and tightens the skin, reduces inflammation caused by blemishes and brightens the skin. Sounds pretty magical. My skin could use brightening.

Have you subscribed? What did you pick?

Books// Taboo and Torn by Casey Hill

11 April 2015

I'm back from Devon and had such an amazing time & have so many posts I need to write up for you and I also decided to rearrange the house so whilst I pretend I'm wonder woman here's a post about so amazing new books I discovered

I recently went into a Charity shop to see if they had any decent books when I saw Taboo by Casey Hill. The cover instantly drew me in and I know, don't judge a book by its cover but I couldn't help it, and I'm so glad I picked it up. I read it stupidly quickly whilst procrastinating and then bought the next 2 in the series.

Taboo

"Forensic investigator Reilly Steel, Quantico-trained and California-born and bred, imagined Dublin to be a far cry from bustling San Francisco, a sleepy backwater where she can lay past ghosts to rest and start anew. She's arrived in Ireland to drag the Irish crime lab into the 21st century, plus keep tabs on her Irish-born father who's increasingly seeking solace in the bottle after a past family tragedy.

But a brutal serial killer soon puts paid to that. When a young man and woman are found dead in an apartment, the gunshot wounds on their naked bodies suggest a suicide pact. But Reilly's instincts are screaming that something's seriously amiss, and as more bodies are discovered, the team soon realises that a twisted murderer is at work, one who seeks to upset society's norms in the most sickening way imaginable.."

I love the fact that this series has a badass female as the main character - Reilly. She makes really good friends with the 2 detectives one of which is typical miserable cop and hates that an american women has come over to get the Irish forensic department up to date. They have such good chemistry and the friendship really works. They also work with profilers and there is a lot of trying to piece together abstract evidence that you're not quite sure is part of it.

This book keeps you gripped until the very last page and the twist in it is really good. I did work it out with the finding of one piece of evidence but learning why is just as interesting as the who. I love that this series follows the forensic department as well as the police investigation because you get to see both sides plus I'm so interested in forensics and the different technology they use.

Torn

"Read the clues. Decode the science. Reveal the murderer. That's Reilly Steel's mantra. Find the answers, solve the crime. But the Quantico-trained forensic investigator is finding her skills aren't enough when a ferociously intelligent killer strikes Dublin. The modus operandi is as perplexing as it is macabre. What connects the two seemingly disparate, high-profile victims? Their corpses refuse to give up their secrets and the crime scenes prove a forensic investigator's worst nightmare.

A journalist drowned in a septic tank. A priest crucified on a tree. The modus operandi is as perplexing as it is gruesome. What connects the high profile victims?

Reilly soon suspects that she may be dealing with a killer - or killers - who know all about crime scene investigation. The police are just as frustrated by the crimes' impenetrable nature and it's only when a third murder occurs - equally graphic and elaborate in its execution - that they discover that this particular killer is using a very specific blueprint for his crimes. Who is the killer's next victim, the real target? And what's his endgame?"

Okay I was not expecting the killer to be who it was in this book and I usually have a pretty good idea. Even thought I had worked it out. The murders in this book are pretty weird and a little bit disturbing but so interesting. The build up of trying to get one step ahead of the killer in order to catch them keeps you on your toes and the ending is just as tense as the first book.

It's also interesting to follow the main characters lives and see where they go after the ending of the first book. I love Reilly and Chris' friendship and am intrigued to see whether it will go further. I also love that you get to learn about the other people working in the forensic department and their jobs. They get a pretty fabulous profiler to help out with the case and he sounds magical and just makes me laugh.

I have the next book in the series which I am currently reading and I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to buy the 4th one. I love a good crime series and I'm seriously hooked on these. I love the way the Author's write (Husband/wife team) and I highly recommend them if you love the crime genre.

Have you read any of them?

L'oreal Color Riche Exclusive Red by Blake

9 April 2015

I'm a huge fan of a red lip. In fact it is my go to lip colour and I may have a slight addiction. Although now it kinda clashes with my hair but who cares. Pink hair, red lips for life. I have so many red lipsticks that my mum is constantly questioning my need for more but you can never have too many.

For now I have found my favourite red. This is the one I reach for every time. It is the L'oreal Paris Color Riche Exclusive Red by Blake - Bit of a mouthful. I mainly picked it up to start with because I am obsessed with Red lipstick and I'm a huge fan of Blake Lively. I mean she's gorgeous, has amazing style and played Serena in Gossip Girl.

I was not expecting to fall so madly in love with this lipstick. I love pretty much everything about it.  The packaging is one of my favourite out of all the many lipsticks I own. I love the black on gold and it looks pricier than its £6.99 price tag. It also smells amazing. It glides on making application easy and even though it is matte its not drying at all and even better, it doesn't cling to dry patches *magic*. So if you suffer from dry slightly cracked lips like moi but cant resist a matte lip then this is the product for you.

I'm so tempted to pick up some of the others but I can't really justify more reds. My mum might take my card off me.

Have you tried any of this collection?

New Cid Eton Mess Nail Polish

7 April 2015

As you are reading this I am away on holiday. Unfortunately nowhere tropical but I am hopefully getting some much needed relaxation in sunny Devon. Also wanted to tell you that I will hopefully be sticking to a posting schedule of Tuesday & Thursday and a weekend post if you're lucky. Was even super organised and scheduled these posts as you can see. It is a new me. Well for now anyway.

Anyways I saw on twitter the other day that Callie from From The Corneres of the Curve was going to be in this months comso magazine. I haven't bought a magazine for ages and I love Callie's blog and her style so I thought I'd treat myself. I then saw it had free nail polish and was even more convinced I needed a treat.

This moths Cosmo comes with a New Cid Nail Polish in 4 different colours. I picked up Eton Mess which is a gorgeous burgundy colour. I am still into my darker autumn/winter colours at the moment so this is perfect.

I did find the consistency was a little runnier than Im used to but it applied easy enough. It took two coats to get good coverage which is normal and the best thing about it was it seemed to dry preetty quick. I usually end up smudging my nails before they're fully dry and I was in a rush whilst doing these but no smudges *hallelujah*. I've had it on for 3 days now and I have quite a lot of tip wear but I have been quite hard on my nails. No massive chips though so thats pretty good as I am the queen of chipping my nails.

Watched in March

3 April 2015

March seemed to fly and apart from my huge binge weekend as mentioned below I didn't really watch much. It's mainly been stuff on in the background whilst I work. Damn uni deadlines. So heres what I've been watching.

Hawaii 5-0

So me and my brother were left alone to fend for ourselves and keep each other alive for the weekend whilst our parents selfishly went away for their honeymoon (I joke they totally deserve a break from us two). Now as we are both so accident prone we decided the safest thing to do was make a nest on the sofa bed and not move for the whole weekend (except to get food obvs)

This led to a monster marathon of 36 episodes in one weekend. We were quite proud of our achievement. However I am now addicted and my brother has been at school & doing homework etc since so we havent been able to watch anymore.

If you are a fan of criminal minds and especially NCIS/NCIS LA then you have to watch this. It is amazing and has made us desperately want to go to Hawaii. They are a special task force called Five-O that solve crimes whilst looking fabulous. I mean how gorgeous is Kono and also Steve. Then theres the love/hate friendship between Steve and Danny that is more like a marriage. The crimes involve the big gun criminals and its always very dramatic. What are you waiting for go binge.

Criminal Minds

Top Daughter award goes to me as I bought my parents the series 1-9 boxset for a joint mothers day/dads birthday pressie. Mainly got it though because I want to watch it and a little bit to outshine my brothers cute teddy (shhhh). As mentioned in Watched in Feb post I am a little bit addicted. Downside is at the moment I can only watch it when everyone else is home otherwise they will kill me. If you love crime shows and behavioural analysis then this is the show for you. Also eye candy

Pretty Little Liars

I put this on the other day whilst finishing my horrific Biochemistry report and Im still not quite sure what all the fuss is about. I mean its alright but there are so many other TV shows I would choose to binge. It's all just a bit far fetched. However Im only on the end of series 1 and I do plan on sticking with it and slowly working my way through it because I am not a quitter. Except Breaking Bad I did quit on that (another one I dont get)

Three Rivers

As you can see I watch a lot of TV series. I was browsing Netflix the other day and saw this and noticed it had Alex O'Loughlin from Hawaii 5-O in and its a medical drama in a transplant hospital I thought I'd give it a whirl. I only got to the last 5 mins of the first episode before my internet decided to die on me but I really enjoyed it and Alex makes an amazing Dr. He can be my Dr any day. It follows a set of patients on the donor list and who need organs and it's quite good. Not quite Greys good but I'm gonna watch the whole series good.

Atlantis

Disney film in bed when you feel like crap is a must. Haven't seen this one in forever and I forgot how much I love it. Kida is one of my favourite Disney Princesses who becomes a badass queen. I started watching the 2nd one online but it's pretty bad so I gave up. Kinda reminded me of a Scooby Doo episode. If you haven't seen it and love badass sassy characters and super cool nerds then this is the film for you.

Princess & The Frog

As mentioned in my fave kids films post this is my go to film when I need cheering up. By far one of my favourite Disney films. I love Ray and will never get over his death *cries*. I had some editing to do on my dissertation but didn't want to sit in the quiet so I put this on in the background because I know it word for word and the soundtrack is pretty awesome. Plus it was there to cheer me up when I wanted to throw my laptop and scream at my graphs.

Next month is probably gonna be a long one because I plan on watching a lot of films next week whilst relaxing with my family.

What have you been wathcing?

You Beauty Discovery Box March 2015

1 April 2015

I was on Bex' blog the other day when I saw her post on the You Beauty Discovery Box. I'm not normally one for subscriptions to beauty box's mainly because I'm a poor student but when I saw that the March box came with a gorgeous Illamasqua Red lipstick I became intrigued. I'm a huge sucker for a red lipstick.

So this box is £6.95 and you get to pick 2 products out of a monthly short-list of 6-10 products that you want and then you get the box with a few added extras. It's a great way to try products that you don't want to pay full price for in case you don't get on with them. It's also a pretty good bargain considering I got an Illamasqua lipstick for £6.95

Because I ordered this so late in the month this box is now unavailable. Sorry. Anyway here's what I got in the box

You Beauty Discovery box

#LipGlam Natural Linolin Lip Balm - £9.99 - As most bloggers I am addicted to lip balm and this one is multi purpose. Magical. It can be used as cuticle ointment and lip & mascara primer and so much more. When you wear as much lipstick as me soft lips are a must. I tried this as soon as the box arrived this morning and it did make my lips feel more hydrated. I thought this would be perfect with the lipstick as it's a matte so probably quite drying. Will post a full review once Ive given it a test run.

Dove Youthful Vitality Shampoo & Conditioner - Im interested to try this as my hair probably isn't classed as ageing at the grand old age of 21 but it has been badly treated so it might help.

Nakd Cocoa & Orange bar - I am so excited to try this. I'm trying to eat healthier and this sounds delicious and may be a better alternative when I'm craving chocolate (written whilst munching an easter egg...my bad. I'm weak)

Illamasqua Lipstick in Sangers Blood Red - £18.50 - Oh my this lipstick is such a gorgeous colour and at £18.50 it makes the box worth it just for this and it's my first Illamasqua lippie. Red is my go to colour and I rock a red lip day or night casual or dressy and this is such a perfect shade. I will post a full review as soon as I've worn it more.

Have you tried the You Beauty Box before?

Beth...x
